Brad Pitt can now add “renovator” to his CV. The actor is expected to oversee a major rehabilitation of Studios Miraval at Chateau Miraval in southern France, an iconic recording studio built in 1977 by French pianist and composer Jacques Loussier. Over the years, the studio has hosted recording sessions for Pink Floyd (The wall), AC / DC, The Cure, Sting, Sade, The Cranberries, and more, but since the early 2020s most have gone unused.
A huge music fan, Pitt will work on the renovation alongside French producer Damien Quintard, Emmy winner, whose credits include artists like Brian Eno and Arca.
With a complete overhaul, the new Miraval Studios will be “[honor] the past while offering a new approach to recording, in the midst of a breathtaking view that is sure to feed all kinds of creative expressions, ”according to a statement. Using its superb natural light and “remarkable natural reverberation”, Miraval Studios – which is now reserving sessions for the summer of 2022 – will now be as beautiful as the sound of its recordings.
“The combination of Brad’s vision for Miraval and our shared passion for taking the time to do simple but beautiful things has resulted in something one of a kind,” added Quintard. “We are delighted that musicians of all types are a part of what we have created. “
Last year, Pitt embarked on some political activism, recounting a campaign ad for Joe Biden. Find out where some of her lead roles landed Result‘s staff ranking of the best films by frequent collaborator David Fincher.
